What Peebo knows, and what it never sees
The short version: there is no account, your app list stays on your phone, and analytics are anonymous counts.

What we never see
Peebo works through Apple's Screen Time. When you pick apps to guard, iOS gives Peebo private tokens, not app names. Those tokens stay on your phone, and Peebo can't turn them back into names.
- Which apps you guard. We don't know, and we can't find out.
- What you do in any app. Peebo only learns that a guarded app was opened, so it can show the lock screen.
- Your screen time. The weekly report of time in your guarded apps is drawn by Apple inside a sealed extension. The numbers never reach Peebo or us.
- Who you are. There is no sign-up, no email, no name and no password. Your pet's name stays on your phone.
What we collect
To understand whether Peebo helps and to fix problems, the app sends anonymous usage events. They are tied to a random ID created when you install the app, which is not linked to your identity and is not used to track you across other apps or websites.
| Data | Example | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Random install ID | A string like 6F1C…E2 | Count events from the same install, and connect your purchase to your copy of the app |
| Product interaction | "a heart was spent", "walked away", "onboarding step 12 viewed", "adventure started" | See which parts of the app work |
| Your onboarding answers, grouped | The option you picked, such as an age band; numbers as a range; several picks as a count. Never typed text. | Check that the app works for different people |
| Purchases | Annual plan started, trial started, restore | Provide the subscription and spot billing problems |
| Diagnostics | App version, iOS version, device model, language | Find bugs that only happen on some phones |
Events never contain app names, website addresses, Screen Time tokens, your pet's name, your name, or anything you type.
Kept on your phone and in your iCloud
Your pet, its history, your settings and your coins are stored on your phone. At the end of each day a copy is saved to your own iCloud (Apple's key-value storage), so a new phone can bring your pet back. We have no access to your iCloud.
Notifications
Reminders such as "A heart is back" are scheduled on your phone. Nothing is sent from a server.
Services we use
- Apple handles payments, Screen Time and iCloud under Apple's own privacy policy. We never see your card or Apple ID.
- RevenueCat checks that your subscription is active. It receives the random install ID and your App Store purchase records.
- PostHog, hosted in the European Union, stores the anonymous usage events described above.
- Our content server sends the app small signed files with game settings. Like any web server, it sees your IP address when the file is downloaded and doesn't store it with any other data.
We don't sell data, show ads, or share data with advertisers or data brokers.
Children
Peebo is made for people managing their own phone, not for parental control. The app asks for an age range at the start: anyone under 13 cannot continue, and nothing is collected from them. For people aged 13 to 17, the app sends only the minimum: onboarding progress and purchase events, with no answers and no device details.
Your choices
- Delete everything on your phone. Deleting the app removes your pet, settings and the install ID from your phone. To remove the iCloud copy too, go to Settings, your name, iCloud, Manage Storage.
- Ask us to delete analytics. Because we don't know who you are, include your Support ID (in the app: Settings, Support ID, Copy) when you write. We'll delete the events for that install within 30 days.
- Turn off notifications at any time in the app's Settings. Messages then wait in the app instead.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data, and to complain to your data protection authority. Write to us and we'll help.
